The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for the efficient and accurate daily operations of the distribution center. This person will oversee daily activities of employees to ensure the distribution center provides quality and efficient performance while maintaining a safe, productive environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Daily work assignments and schedules for shipping, receiving, and inventory control departments.
  • Supervise between 15-45 employees
  • Participate in the hiring, coaching, and training of facility personnel.
  • Teaching and training of current and new warehouse personnel.
  • Participate in the performance evaluation and increases for warehouse personnel.
  • Productivity goals for warehouse and meeting those goals.
  • Ensuring that the product received and shipped meet or exceed customer expectation.
  • Lean programs within the facility.
  • Ensuring that safety rules and policies are followed by all employees.
  • Purchasing and maintaining warehouse equipment and supplies.
  • Working with Distribution Center Manager in developing goals and objectives for the operations department.

Education/Experience        

Bachelor’s degree, preferably with concentration in logistics

3-5 years related experience in warehouse and personnel management

Experience in Lean Management or Six Sigma is strongly preferred

 

Language 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees

Strong leadership and communication skills

Ability to speak or understand Spanish is strongly preferred

 

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand or walk for majority of shift

Occasionally required to sit and stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Must be able to handle product weighing up to 75 lbs and measuring up to 17 feet in length Regularly required to see, speak, touch, reach, feel, and hear

                                               

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to identify priorities and shift focus to new priorities as needed
