Work Environment: Monday – Friday 6am – 2:30pm

 

Job Summary:

Windsor Windows has an immediate opening for a Supplier Quality Specialist. This position adheres to quality processes and procedures. Inspects vendor supplier material to ensure material is conforming to the engineering drawings and standards. Identifies defects, approving or rejecting items under inspection. Is the key liaison between quality, operations, materials and purchasing.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming material from vendors to check for defects and ensure quality.
  • Create and track non-conforming material via Supplier Correct Action and Response (SCAR) process. 
  • Follow up on the timeliness of the supplier SCAR, via purchasing.
  • Create SAP transaction release or place material on hold if a nonconformance is found.
  • Communication with multiple functions, including Product Engineering, Purchasing, Materials, and Operations on status of material.
  • Collaborates with Product Engineering, Purchasing and Operations to develop component level control plans that are deemed critical to quality.
  • Coordinate and conduct supplier First Articles inspection.
  • Develop SOPs for inspection processes.
  • Report weekly on nonconformances found and status of the corrective action.
  • Review supplier corrective action. When necessary, provide feedback to ensure the actions taken to correct the issue are acceptable and sustainable. Utilize various problem-solving tools to assist in identifying the root cause.
  • Communicate inspection results through standardized metrics.

 

Requirements:

Two years of experience in Manufacturing or Quality is preferred.

 

Additional Skills:

  • Use of various measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, protractor, feeler gauge, comparator)
  • Computer-use of Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel, SAP.
  • Good people skills to work with multiple functions in a team environment.
  • Interpret product prints for dimensions, tolerances.
  • Able to perform arithmetic calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, working with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
