Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting financial and operational data to identify cost reduction opportunities, improve business performance, and support strategic decision-making across the Towanda facility. This position develops financial models, performs variance analysis, prepares forecasts and budgets, and provides reporting and insights to management. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts on a weekly or monthly basis. 
  • Perform end-of-month closing of books and reconciliation using standard Journal Entry templates, including but not limited to intercompany accounts, trade sales, accounts payables, and other accounts as needed or assigned. 
  • Maintain Fixed Asset records in SAP & IFS. 
  • Assist in reviewing financial statements and reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. 
  • Review balance sheet accounts for accuracy and variances with recommendations for management action. 
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes. 
  • Respond to routine requests from internal or external customers regarding accounting questions. 
  • Position will serve as the accounting department team leader for clerical staff members and actively participate in department training. 
  • Other duties or tasks as may be required or assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or business Management with an Accounting minor and a minimum of two years accounting experience.  
  • Experience with SAP, other ERP software preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Expected travel away from home site/location: less than 10% 

The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical office environment, though this person is expected to occasionally be on and work on the manufacturing floor/environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
