Job Summary:
The Unified Communications Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our enterprise unified communication infrastructure. This position will deploy solutions and manage the optimization of the UC platforms within the organization. The UC Engineer is vital to develop and execute the strategic vision of the department and ensure alignment with technology solutions and operational needs. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
* Architect, deploy, manage, and configure a cloud-based VoIP telephony solution, leveraging technology from Zoom Phone, including call routing, interactive voice response (IVR), voicemail, and SIP trunking
* Integrate the telephony system with Customer Relationship Management platforms (i.e., Salesforce, HubSpot) and various other collaboration tools hosted through a cloud-based platform

* Monitor system performance, apply updates, and provide support to resolve issues related to quality, connectivity, and outages

* Provide end-user support for issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence

* Partner with IT Security to ensure compliance with company security policies as well as the implementation of encryption and acccess controls to secure the telephony system's for the company

Develop and utilize monitoring tools to track UC system performance and generate usage reports

* Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver communication solutions that are aligned with business needs


Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a technical area such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent training and experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.

* At least 5 years of previous experience in unified communications engineering, with a focus on VoIP telephony engineering. Preference will be given to experience with cloud-based VoIP or UCaaS platforms.

* Knowledge and proficiency working within networking (i.e., TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, NAT, firewalls, etc.) and with VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, WebRTC) and codecs (G.711, G.729)

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and projects at one time.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands and work environment for this role align with those of a standard office setting. While performing job duties, the employee may occasionally need to stand, walk, sit, use hands for handling objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as talk and hear. This role may occasionally require lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. 

 

Travel:

This position may require travel to other Woodgrain locations at least 2 to 3 times a year.
