PRIMARY ROLE: This candidate is responsible leading the daily operations within the loading department. This position will operate a forklift vehicle for the purpose ofmoving material from the staging location to the trailer for loading.This position is accountable for the safe and efficient loading of the trailer, utilizing proper loading and stacking techniques to ensure the safety, stability, and quality of the material.
JOB EXPECTATIONS:
- Ensure orders are picked/packaged to Woodgrain Standards.
- Partnering with Operations Manager to ensure all deadlines and
priority cut-off times are met. - Supervise up to 5 employees.
- Teach and train current and new warehouse personnel.
- Operates a forklift and reach truck in a safe and efficient manner
according to company guidelines. - Inspects and records maintenance on vehicle at the beginning and
end of shift. - Backing 53’ trailers in and out of tight shipping bays.
- Uses forklift and reach truck to move finished units from picking cart
to staging area and from warehouse staging location to the trailer for
loading. - Opening and closing of trailer curtains; throwing load straps to secure
loads over units on trailer. - Uses a route sheet to properly load trailer.
Operates a handheld scanner to track material. - Assists with physical inventories as required.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Cleans trailer prior to loading, removing any debris, returned material,
or orders to be reshipped, and place the material in designated area. - Package customer orders when completed.
- Complies and ensures that all employees comply with company
standard operating procedures, safety policies, and OSHA standards. - Attends/Leads safety meetings as required.
- Assist in picking/pulling of customer orders.
- Other duties as assigned by Managers.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of related experience in warehouseand personnel management or High School Diploma or GED and 5+
years of related experience. - Ability to work safely and instruct others about safe work practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Maintain positive working relationships with team members and
management. - Problem solving skills.
- High level attention to detail.
- Other duties as assigned by Managers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to operate a forklift and reach truck to move, load,
unload, stack, and count material. Specific vision abilities required by this
job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception,
and ability to adjust focus. - Must be able to back 53’ trailers in and out of tight shipping bays.
- Use of hands to feel, manipulate, or handle; reach with hands and arms; and
talk or hear. - Frequently standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting of 50-85 pounds and/or pushing 100 pounds.
