The Exteriors Sales Specialist position serves as an internal expert for Woodgrain’s exterior siding product lines.  This role partners closely with Northeast Sales Team, Marketing and National Accounts division while acting as an extension of our key siding vendors, including, Maibec, AZEK Exteriors, PlyGem, Tando and Silvermine Stone, to support customers and contractors throughout the Northeastern United States.

The specialist works in collaboration with vendors to ensure their exterior siding products are effectively communicated, properly specified, and correctly installed in the field.  This role provides hands-on training, marketing support, jobsite evaluations, and product demonstrations to strengthen brand loyalty, drive sales growth and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Field resource for the Exterior Siding products that Woodgrain represents.
  • Conduct on-site product training sessions, installation demonstrations, and contractor workshops with Vendor representative and Woodgrain OSR’s.
  • Work in Vendor/Woodgrain OSR teams to identify, quote and coordinate large projects in the region.
  • Provide technical and installation support to builders, contractors, distributors, and sales representatives.
  • Coordinating with vendor’s Quality teams, perform jobsite inspections and field assessments to ensure product installations meet standards.
  • Support the sales team by assisting in development of marketing materials, product launches and regional events.
  • Collect and communicate field feedback to inform product development and marketing efforts.
  • Maintain a detailed pipeline reports, communicating opportunities, sales call notes, and customer follow-ups.
  • Promote Woodgrain and our vendor partners brand image and best practices at every customer touchpoint.

 

 

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not a prerequisite.
  • Relevant experience of at least 3-5 years, unless currently in another role within our organization.

 

 

 

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction, building materials, or exterior systems.
  • Understanding of different types of siding materials, their installation processes and how they work with the overall house build.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both contractors and distributors.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Preferred knowledge of local building codes and any professional building certifications.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting field issues and providing practical solutions.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Candidate should have above average skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. They should have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Attention to detail a must.  Outside sales reps must have time management skills, be self-motivated, be able to build relationships, and always maintain a positive attitude. Customer facing roles require maintaining a professional appearance and representing the company positively to the public is required.

Travel:

  • Travel requirements for this position vary from 50% to 75%, including overnight stay.
