JOB SUMMARY:
Machine Operator is responsible for operating all aspects of line machinery. To be successful, an Assembler II must demonstrate high attention to detail, the skill to produce accurate work, and a commitment to working safely.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Run (operate) all aspects of line machinery and give direction to other employees working on the line in which they are running.
- Perform these functions in a quick efficient manner while meeting or exceeding required daily output and meeting the quality standard expectations.
- Fabricate and assemble any and all types of pre-hung doors including singles, patios, doubles, triples, and all types and configurations including fixed and vented sidelights and transoms.
- Proficient at cut downs (both height and width), able to machine mortise cassettes, three point locks, and electric card locks.
- Read and understand drawings that are provided to machine/assemble the special requirements of a door assembly.
- Know and understand the height and width requirements of doors on orders (rough openings, net unit openings) and be able to calculate the measurements of the finished assembly per the work order.
- Train different employees on all aspects of the Machine Operator position including but not limited to: jam/frame/sill prep, safe and efficient machine operations, assembly of all aspects of all door styles and types.
- Entire work area will be cleaned and picked up during and at the end of their shift, work tools and equipment must be cleaned and put away as well.
- There will be other requirements related to Woodgrain Building Products employment that will be occasionally assigned.
TOOLS USED —Include but are not limited to: chop saw, table saw, rip saw, hand saw; router, nail gun, screw gun, door machine, various pneumatic tools, and drills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE — High School diploma or GED and one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CNC Machine Experience Required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS — Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence; effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS — Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurements, volume, and distance.
OTHER SKILLS/CERTIFICATION — Might require forklift certification, depending upon branch requirements.
REASONING ABILITY — Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to understand branch and industry standards in identification, measurement, repairs, replacements, and modification of products.
