Job Summary:
Supervisors are responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing activities that occur within their assigned area of oversight. They ensure adherence to functional best practices and provide internal customer service so that Woodgrain goals and objectives can be achieved. They oversee: the safety and cleanliness of their area, material handling activities and personnel, compliance with all policies and procedures, and are accountable for their area/team performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Champion Safety.
- Collect daily, weekly, and monthly safety, quality control, production, attendance, and training data to forward to the appropriate department.
- Continual development and implementation of operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate waste and improve quality and employee performance.
- Must have ability to work well with a wide variety of individuals both internal and external to Woodgrain Millwork.
- Actively engage in continuous improvement projects.
- Manage employee attendance according to policy, in a standard and consistent manner.
- Ensure all production equipment is kept in good repair, unsafe equipment is removed from operation, and proper maintenance is completed when necessary.
- Offer support that empowers employees to take an active role in process and safety improvements.
- Provide direct reports with regular, objective, and constructive feedback and regarding performance and expectations.
- Keep the appropriate chain of command informed of the overall performance of direct reports, issues potentially requiring disciplinary action, and any potential need for staffing adjustments.
- Partner with Human Resources on all company policies, procedures, and employee relations situations.
- Computer literate with strong abilities to learn, optimize, and instruct others on software applications.
- Capable of safely and accurately operating production equipment.
- Obtain and remain current on certifications and training as required or assigned.

Requirements:
- 3-5 years of Supervisor experience/leadership in a production environment.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proven positive leadership.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work with others.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook. SAP experience a plus.

- Hearing: must be able to hear clearly all verbal communication, sounds, and horns, 100% of the workday
- Mobility: Stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and grip, feel and reach with hands and arms, stoop, twist, and bend 20% of their work schedule
- The employee is frequently required to clearly communicate written and verbally 100% of the workday
- The employee must be able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally, and/or up to 25lbs frequently, between ground and shoulder level during their daily work schedule
- Moving mechanical parts, machines, and vehicles
- The purchasing environment is small, and the employee must be able to work in close proximity with other co-workers
- The manufacturing environment noise level is generally loud and must wear proper PPE
- Employees are regularly exposed to drafts, fumes, airborne particles, and extreme hot and cold temperatures
