Job Summary:
The Warehouse Box Truck & Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely movement of door components and materials between manufacturing and warehouse locations. This position will operate a company box truck and forklift while maintaining accurate inventory transactions related to material movement. The position will also support inventory control activities, including physical inventory counts, variance investigation, tracking, and reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a company box truck to transport door components, materials, and other inventory between designated warehouse and manufacturing locations.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in accordance with company safety procedures.
- Operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner to load, unload, and move materials.
- Complete accurate inventory transactions for all material movements between locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure physical movements are properly reflected in the inventory system.
- Conduct physical inventory counts and cycle counts as assigned.
- Identify, document, and investigate inventory variances.
- Track inventory discrepancies and provide variance information and reports to management.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation and other inventory control activities as needed.
- Maintain an organized and safe warehouse and material-handling environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must have at least 18 months of experience operating a 28-foot box truck.
- Ability to successfully complete required company certification to operate a box truck.
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver a box truck as required by the position.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment.
- Ability to accurately perform inventory transactions and maintain inventory records.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and report inventory discrepancies.
- Ability to perform physical inventory counts and work with inventory data.
- Ability to safely lift, move, load, and unload materials as required by the position.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Experience with inventory management or warehouse management systems
- Experience performing cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, or variance analysis.
- Previous experience transporting materials between manufacturing and warehouse locations.
- Basic computer skills and experience entering data into an inventory system.
Physical Demands:
This person is expected to perform work in the manufacturing floor/environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a box truck. Ability to safely handle materials and perform loading and unloading activities. Ability to work in varying warehouse and manufacturing conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, temperature variations, and moving equipment.
This is a full-time position. This position occasionally requires long hours and occasional weekend work.
