Work Environment:
This position is scheduled for a minimum of 8 hours per day; however, hours and shift assignment may vary based on business needs.

Position Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of an assigned production area within the door manufacturing facility. This role works laterally alongside other Production Managers and reports directly to the Plant Manager. The Production Manager is accountable for ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and team performance goals are achieved while fostering a culture aligned with company values.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Safety Leadership

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture in alignment with company policies and OSHA standards.
  • Ensure all team members are trained and compliant with safety procedures.
  • Lead incident investigations, implement corrective actions, and proactively identify risk reduction opportunities.
  • Conduct routine safety audits and participate in safety meetings.

Quality Management

  • Ensure products meet established quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Monitor production processes to reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve quality concerns.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product consistency and performance.

Production & Operational Performance

  • Oversee daily production activities to meet output, efficiency, and cost targets.
  • Manage labor allocation and workflow to optimize productivity.
  • Monitor KPIs and implement action plans to address performance gaps.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and other departments to ensure smooth operational flow.

People Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Address performance concerns in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Support workforce planning, staffing, and training initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and teamwork.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Participate in plant-wide initiatives and cross-functional projects.
  • Support lean manufacturing and operational excellence efforts.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3–5+ years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in door, millwork, or related manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required by business needs.


Physical Requirements:

  • Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and occasional lifting as required.
