Job Summary:

Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, the Moulder Technician is responsible for moulder machine setup and repair according to safety standards and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up/Operate Moulding machine to plane, shape and groove woodstock.
  • Ensure proper machine alignment to produce specified cut.
  • Read and understand molding part drawings and order specifications.
  • Visually analyze and measure produced molding to ensure it conforms to product specifications.
  • Working with various Moulding department employees as well as quality, tooling, and suppliers to improve and develop equipment specifications and selection for Moulding.
  • Resolve quality and production issues by working with Quality Control, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Maintenance.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic machinery operation preferred.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a technical manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for long periods during a shift.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including temperature-controlled environments.

  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
  • The ability to read and comprehend written instructions as required to complete assigned tasks.
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment, e.g. safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE as required by specific jobs.
  • High level attention to detail.

 

Physical Demands:

This position occasionally requires long hours and occasional weekend work. The employee is expected to be able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 25 lbs) and perform physical tasks as required.

 

Travel:

This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.
