Job Summary:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Facilities/Grounds Technician will be responsible to keep our facility’s ground functionally and aesthetically sound.  The technician will maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, and paths.  The technician will employ insecticides, chemical sprays, fertilizers, and mulches to optimize condition of greenery. Also, responsible for keeping the facility free from trash, litter, debris, weeds, and harmful insects. 

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up/Operate Moulding machine to plane, shape and groove woodstock.
  • Perform facilities maintenance with limited supervision.
  • Maintain lawns, trees, shrubs and paths.
  • Operating and maintaining hand tools, such as shovels and saws efficiently.
  • Utilizing insecticides, fertilizers, and chemical sprays to treat diseases.
  • Keeping grounds free from trash, litter and debris, and emptying trash receptacles.
  • Responsible for the care, safe and efficient, use and security of maintenance tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and follow all company safety rules and guidelines.
  • Proper PPE Usage while performing all job duties.
  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year groundskeeping or related experience
  • Proficient in using manual and power tools safely
  • Free from allergies that interfere with duties
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Able to complete tasks with limited supervision.

  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
  • The ability to read and comprehend written instructions as required to complete assigned tasks.
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment, e.g. safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE as required by specific jobs.
  • High level attention to detail.

 

Physical Demands:

This position occasionally requires long hours and occasional weekend work. The employee is expected to be able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks as required.

 

Travel:

This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.
