The Regional Operations Manager works with and through management to ensure consistency and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and to assist assigned locations in the continued focus on daily improvement and implementing best practices, driving DISTRIBUTION to the goal of being the best-in-class distributor. 

  • Acts as the expert in all aspects of SAP Production & Warehousing and exhibits a thorough understanding of all other aspects of SAP and how we interact with the software.
  • Teaches and trains Management & others on new policies and processes.
  • Expert in the production of interior/exterior doors and creating the best process flow of the production shop to maximize productivity.
  • Resets Door shops as needed to optimize space through the use of time studies and line balancing.
  • Expert in Project Management and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ensures that all assigned locations are following all company processes, and work to improve metrics on areas where locations are below company standards.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environments by following and establishing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Ensure facilities are maintaining equipment properly and managing any rental equipment.
  • Directs and facilitates the ongoing lean improvement process using techniques such as Kaizen, 5S, TPM, Kanban, Policy Deployment, etc.
  • Identifies ongoing lean improvement training needs and assists with developing and implementing the required training.
  • Establishes metrics to monitor financial savings as compared to established goals and targets.
  • Champions lean principles to improve quality, reduce lead time, improve SOTC and reduce overall cost.
  • Recommends solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
  • Documents and shares best practices found in other DC’s.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
  • BA/BS degree with a concentration in logistics.
  • P&L responsibilities over a Production Door Shop
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience or training.
  • Lean/Six-Sigma experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office, notably Excel.
  • Proficient understanding of data analysis and risk assessment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience as a leader and motivating others.
  • Experience in prioritizing multiple important projects.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Required to stand, walk, sit and hear.  Able to use hands and fingers on a (computer) keyboard and other office equipment. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. Travel required.
