Work Environment: M – F,  7am – 3:30p, OT and Weekends occasionally

 

Job Summary:

The Industrial electrician installs, repairs, and maintains electrical systems in the manufacturing environment.  This role ensures that new machines are ready to function at full performance and diagnose any problems the machine may run into over its lifespan. They also troubleshoot electrical systems and ensure that issues don't interfere with production.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Preventative maintenance activities to sustain a robust controls hardware/software system, electrical systems, and process network infrastructure.

Predictive, Preventative, and Corrective work in all areas of the site with the primary focus on instrumentation, MCC and PLC hardware, network connections and PLC.

Develop and Execute a Preventative maintenance schedule for the site's systems.

Respond, troubleshoot, correct, and prevent, instrumentation and controls issues.

Train other maintenance personnel in basic electrical, instrumentation, and controls knowledge.

Participate in the development and implementation of controls projects at the site.

Serve as the internal and external point of contact for all site controls and instrumentation upgrades and projects.

Assist in planned and unplanned downtime projects, shutdowns, and emergency work.

Serve as a resource for quality, site safety, scheduling, and planning for maintenance and rebuild activities.

All other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

3+ years of experience working with PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), I/O networking, HMI programming/maintenance required.

Must be able to develop and troubleshoot automation applications.

Preference for experience working with Siemens and Allen Bradley/Rockwell products.

Musta have experience with applications up to 3 phase/480 volts.

Must have knowledge of Electrical Safety practices, PPE, and electrical codes.

Must actively participate in safety improvement.

Must maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Must help build and maintain spare parts inventory.

Must be familiar with installing hardware/software and associated wiring.

Must be able to correctly interpret and develop technical documents, including technical drawings and schematics.

Must have experience with robotics.

Must be able to interpret directions from multiple sources, including written, email, verbal, and technical sources.

Must be able to work with minimum supervision.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands and work environment are representative of manufacturing environment.  While performing the duties of this job, the Industrial Electrician is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
This is a full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

 

Travel:

This position may require minimal travel to other Woodgrain locations.
