Summary:

The Lead Optimizing Technician is responsible for converting data to create or modify computer programs and/or equipment. They will also compile and create documentation for program development as well as subsequent revisions.  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to meet all the essential responsibilities and perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safety (strictly enforced).  Mandatory attendance of all assigned safety training and adherence to all safety policies and practices.
  • Running production simulations to increase yield and value.
  • Resolving technical issues on scanners, opti-saws, backrips, 7-0 rerips, ripsaw, planer,  cut stock and reclaim machines.
  • Develop and maintain TPM schedules for all equipment
  • Training operators to use the programs.
  • Making upgrades to both equipment and systems.
  • Responsible for development and training of technical associates.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required or assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior Tech experience
  • Prior production experience
  • Readable handwriting (a plus)
  • Accuracy
  • Consistent attendance

Reports to Department Supervisor/Production Manager

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
  • Regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly bend wrists.
  • Regular bending, stooping, stretching, twisting, and turning.
  • Occasionally required to stand (up to 10 hours) and walk.
  • Noise level is usually moderate.
  • Requires close vision, distant vision and dept preception
  • Exposure to heat and cold extremes at times.
  • Exposure to potentially hazardous production areas (heavy equipment traffic, slip/trip hazards, airborne dust/debris, etc)
