Work Environment:
Monday through Thursday, 5:00 am – 3:30 pm, Fridays and Saturdays as needed
Job Summary:
The Industrial electrician installs, repairs, and maintains electrical systems in the manufacturing environment. This role ensures that new machines are ready to function at full performance and diagnose any problems the machine may run into over its lifespan. They also troubleshoot electrical systems and ensure that issues don't interfere with production.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems including motors, transformers, breakers, wiring, and control panels.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and safety of electrical infrastructure across the site.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints accurately.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical problems promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain compliance with all electrical safety standards, codes, and company policies.
- Assist with machine startups, shutdowns, equipment modifications, planned shutdowns, and emergency repairs.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and parts inventory; keep work area clean and organized.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams and other departments to support plant operations.
- Mentor and train apprentice electricians and other maintenance personnel.
- Adhere to company safety programs and promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting.
- Solid knowledge of electrical codes (NEC) and safe work practices.
- Experience working with three-phase electrical systems up to 480 volts.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical equipment, including motors, starters, relays, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Familiarity with basic PLC and control systems is a plus, but not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use electrical testing tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands and work environment are representative of manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the Industrial Electrician is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
This is a full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel:
This role does not require traveling from other Woodgrain locations.
