Starting Salary: $20.00($19.00 + $1.00 shift differential)
Employment Type: Hourly FT
Work Environment: Monday – Friday from 11:00 pm - 7:00 am with overtime including Saturday and extended hours as needed.
Job Summary:
This Material Handler would be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials to and from production lines and warehouse.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Transport racks of material safely with forklift
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling procedures are followed
- Perform inventory transactions with handheld device when moving material
- Assist with other production functions as needed.
- Proper PPE Usage while performing all job duties.
- Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Ensure accuracy and quality of all deliverables.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Assist in Monthly Inventory Cycle Counting
Requirements:
- A minimum of two (2) or more years of forklift operator experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
- Ability to work well and collaborate in a team environment.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- The ability to successfully use a computer without assistance to complete assigned tasks
- The ability to read and comprehend written instructions as required to complete assigned tasks
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment, e.g. safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE as required by specific jobs
- Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
- High level attention to detail.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical sawmill environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel:
This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.
