Work Environment:
Monday - Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm with overtime as needed.

 

Job Summary:

The Fabricator plays an important role in the manufacturing process and will work directly with the engineers. The Fabricator will fabricate, construct, assemble and build parts and machinery as needed to improve production processes. They will also use a variety of tools, machines and their hands requiring a range of knowledge and skills.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performing tasks of fabricating; welding, cutting and layout.
  • Reading blueprints and designs.
  • Rebuilding, repairing, and repurposing existing equipment.
  • Treatment and repair of metal surfaces to ensuring safe usage.
  • Installing parts, piece and elements of the design project.
  • Installing various items for the purpose of completing projects safely.
  • Coordinating work with others to ensure projects are completed within established time frames.
  • Maintaining the fabrication shop, equipment, tools, etc. to ensure the availability and functioning of required items and ensure safety.
  • Using a variety of tools (hand tools, power tools, welders, grinders, tape measure) in a safety manner to perform essential job duties.
  • Moving materials and equipment using a forklift.
  • Working under limited supervision.

 

Requirements:

  • Two years of related experience.
  • An associates degree in Welding preferred

 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical sawmill environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

 

Travel:

This position requires out of state travel up to 10% of the year.
