Job Summary:
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic testing, calibration and problem corrections
- Restore electrical equipment to proper working order in a timely fashion
- Correct any existing or potential electrical safety problems
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain lighting systems, electric valves and pumps, electrical sensors and mounts as well as electric motors, controllers, and switch gears
- Stay current on knowledge of national electrical code standards and other associated regulatory guidelines
- Predictive, Preventative, and Corrective work in all areas of the site with the primary focus on instrumentation, MCC and PLC hardware, network connections and PLC
Requirements:
- Technical School training preferred
- State of Journeyman Electrical license, or the ability to obtain such a license within a year preferred
- Two or more years experience in electrical installation, troubleshooting and repair
- PLC experience preferred
- Programming experience preferred
- Ability to use and understand precision measuring tools and equipment
- Requires good communication and technical skills along with being detail oriented
- Troubleshooting/diagnostic skills
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly throughout the day
- Regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
- Regular bending, stooping, stretching, twisting, and turning
- Frequently required to stand (up to 10 hours) and walk
- Noise level is usually moderate
- Exposure to head and cold extremes at times
- Exposure to potentially hazardous production areas (heavy equipment traffic, slip/trip hazards, airborne dust/debris, etc)
