About the Role
As HR Director, you’ll be the right hand to the Division President and a key member of the Division Lead Team. You’ll drive strategy, lead change, and deliver results across all facets of HR—from recruiting and retention to compliance, compensation, and culture. This role is ideal for a seasoned HR leader who thrives on both vision and execution, and who’s ready to make a measurable difference in a high-growth environment.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Align HR strategy with business goals to support growth
- Champion Woodgrain’s values and culture across the division
- Use data-driven insights to guide decisions and challenge misaligned practices
- Plan for future talent needs and organizational development
HR Operations & Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the HR team with integrity and transparency
- Implement automated, paperless HR systems for efficiency
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Manage investigations, disciplinary actions, and team member relations
Compensation & Benefits
- Design performance-linked compensation structures
- Oversee benefits programs and open enrollment
- Benchmark programs against industry standards to stay competitive
Training & Development
- Build leadership bench strength through training and coaching
- Deliver annual compliance content and professional development
- Empower team members to grow and thrive
Recruiting & Retention
- Develop local recruiting strategies to attract top talent
- Oversee full-cycle hiring and onboarding
- Create tools to ensure cultural and organizational fit
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a proactive safety culture
- Manage workers’ comp claims and collaborate with Corporate Risk
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in HR or Business Management
- 15+ years of progressive HR experience
- 5-8 years in senior/executive HR leadership
- PHR/SPHR certification preferred
- Multi-state employment law expertise
- Union experience and exposure to innovative HR practices a plus
