Job Summary:

This position plays an important role in the manufacturing process.  We are seeking a skilled Custom Interior Door Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality finishes on interior doors.

.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary.
  • Installation of equipment to assist with transporting and spraying doors.
  • Apply high-quality paint finishes using spray equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
  • Repair and restore damaged doors as needed.
  • Conduct final inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Manage time effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.
  • Maintain inventory of paints and supplies, cleaning equipment to ensure proper application.
  • Coordinates with others to ensure projects are completed within established time frames.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in custom painting, preferably with wood building materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with power tools preferred.

Travel: This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.

Physical Demands: The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical manufacturing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and is regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and extreme hot and cold temperatures.
