Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager will provide leadership and oversight to day-to-day HR activities to support operational success. This position is responsible for managing key employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, HR administration, and compliance, while serving as a primary HR resource for employees and leaders. The HR Manager will ensure new employees are effectively onboarded and prepared for a successful employment experience at Woodgrain, while providing ongoing support throughout the employee lifecycle. This position will also play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture and employee engagement through the planning and execution of HR programs, communications, recognition, and engagement initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day HR operations and serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers
- Oversee employee lifecycle processes, including recruitment support, onboarding, employee changes, offboarding, and HR documentation
- Partner with leaders and employees to address employee relations, performance, attendance, conduct, and workplace concerns
- Provide guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures, employee development, and effective people-management practices
- Ensure consistent application and communication of company policies, programs, and HR practices
- Oversee accurate and timely maintenance of employee records, HR systems, and required documentation
- Coordinate performance management processes, including performance reviews, coaching, corrective action, and employee development
- Monitor and support compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies
- Lead employee engagement, recognition, culture, and workplace initiatives that support a positive employee experience
- Plan and execute onboarding, employee communications, engagement activities, and HR programs
- Partner with the Corporate HR Manager on complex employee relations matters, organizational initiatives, and HR strategy
- Provide HR reporting, workforce information, and analysis to support business and HR decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, employee services, and operational effectiveness
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information
Requirements:
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required
- Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent preferred
- At least 5 years of progressive human resources experience with demonstrated experience in a generalist or HR management role
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration
- Working knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms

The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.

This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.
