Job Summary:
As an Automation Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience with innovative technologies while working in a collaborative environment with Woodgrain’s Lumber & Millwork Engineering team. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to real-world projects while developing your technical skills and industry knowledge.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to design, program, and troubleshoot industrial control systems
- Testing PLC programs and robots for automation processes
- Participate in hardware design, including specifying components like sensors, actuators, and controllers
- Support commissioning activities, including wiring, system integration, and debugging
- Document technical processes and create manuals for system operations
- Analyze data to enhance system efficiency, safety, and productivity
Requirements:
- Must be a junior or senior in college majoring in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering
- Familiarity with control systems software like Allen-Bradley and Siemens or experience with robotics preferred
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Must be a self-starter and willing to receive constructive feedback
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to industrial equipment
