Summary (Scope):
The Wrap Operator will be responsible for lamination line set up, operate, performing adjustments, or tend machine. Operators must also ensure quality, by examining various end-products and observing pre-defined tolerances. All employees are held to a standard to adhere to all safety practices and comply with all company policies including Department Employee expectations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Champion Safety. Safety is the upmost priority. Maintains a healthy work environment by following all company standards, policies, and procedures as well as those required by state and federal law.
Set up profiles on lamination lines.
Make adjustments as needed to ensure produced materials meet production efficiency and quality standards.
Set up wheels on a cartridge to wrap large stiles and lauan. Change out cartridges as needed.
Inspect and grade finish good products thoroughly.
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery.
Perform safety checks prior to operating.
Starts machine and observes flow of material through machine to detect irregular lamination.
Moves levers to stop, start, and regulate speed of machine and to align material.
Loading moulding onto machinery up to 25 pounds.
Offloading moulding prior to placing in bundles, shipping cartons or pallets..
Responding to alarms from machines regarding malfunction and reporting.
Collect and record processing data and ensure operating equipment is within the optimal settings; must be able to operate within very strict parameters and follow documented settings.
Observe other activities on the line and work and communicate with other team members to reduce downtime and improve output.
Assist with other production functions as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school/GED.
Ability to effectively communicates in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
The ability to successfully use a computer without assistance to complete assigned tasks. SAP knowledge preferred.
The ability to read and comprehend written instructions as required to complete assigned tasks.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
High level attention to detail.
Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment, e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE as required by specific jobs.
