JOB SUMMARY:
Supervisors are responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing and activities that occur within their assigned area of oversight. They ensure adherence to functional
best practices and provide internal customer service so that Woodgrain Millwork goals and objectives may be achieved. They oversee: the safety and cleanliness of
their area, material handling activities and personnel, compliance with all policies and procedures, and are accountable for their area/team performance. Under
minimal supervision perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety,
predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Maintain and improve facilities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Champion Safety. Safety is the upmost priority. Maintains a healthy work environment by following and enforcing company standards, policies, and procedures as well as those required by state and federal law.
- Create excellent customer service by providing our customers with quality products on time and in the amounts ordered.
- Coordinate team member activities to achieve site specific production, inventory, warehouse, and quality goals.
- Perform scheduled safety inspections throughout the department.
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Manage, supervise, and execute maintenance department as well as support activities 24/7 by assisting company site.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Experience in metal fabrication and welding.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations with proper supervision.
- Track and maintain electronic records on all maintenance and repairs to machines and facility.
- Create Preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for all equipment in facility
- Work with procurement manager on creating an inventory control system for all replacement parts.
- Create and manage critical parts system.
- Control maintenance budget and spending.
- Direct and delegate workload to maintenance personnel.
- Train maintenance technicians.
- Hire and supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs, or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.)
- Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance
- Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
- Participate in coordination of projects (e.g., renovations, new equipment installations)
- Balance available resources with areas of need to ensure tasks are completed on time and at the lowest cost. Manage approved overtime requirements.
- Must be professional, and courteous in all interactions.
- Oversees the general operation of the maintenance department with a major focus on compliance with respect to employee safety (lockout procedures, confined space SOP’s, etc.) and environmental rules.
- Prepares work schedules to ensure efficient operations.
- Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment.
- Troubleshoots issues that arise.
- Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures required documentation is completed and signed correctly.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Monitors and updates Time and Attendance daily, attendance points, and approvals for submittal to payroll.
- Proper PPE Usage while performing all job duties.
- Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of all deliverables.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of Supervisory experience/leadership in a production environment.
- Ability to effectively communicates in English, both verbally and in writing.
- The ability to read and comprehend written instructions as required to complete assigned tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment, e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE as required by specific jobs.
- Continuous training in-house and external as needed.
