Employment Type: Hourly FT (Non-Exempt)
Starting Salary:  $22.00 - $30.00 per hour based on experience
Work Environment: In-Person, Monday through Friday 5am to 3:30pm

Job Summary:The Maintenance Technician works under minimal supervision performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. The Technician position supports the manufacturing operations to ensure the equipment is running properly, safely, and efficiently. The Technician also drives and helps the system with continuous improvement. Working with other team members, both upstream and downstream, to maximize output and reduce downtime is the essence of this position. All employees are held to a standard to adhere to all safety practices and complies with all company policies including Department Employee expectations.

 

Duities & Responsibilities: 

  • Champion Safety. Safety is the upmost priority. Maintains a healthy work environment by following and enforcing company standards, policies, and procedures as well as those required by state and federal law.
  • Create excellent customer service by providing our customers with quality products on time and in the amounts ordered.
  • Perform assigned scheduled safety inspections throughout the manufacturing plant.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities. 
  • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Experience in metal fabrication and welding.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations with proper supervision.
  • Participate in coordination of projects (e.g., renovations)
  • Must be friendly, professional, and courteous in all interactions.
  • Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment.
  • Responsible for the care, safe and efficient use of security of maintenance tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Troubleshoots issues that arise.
  • Transport material throughout the manufacturing plant safely with forklift.
  • Must comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures required documentation is completed and signed correctly.
  • Proper PPE Usage while performing all job duties.
  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of all deliverables.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred
  • Five+ years of previous industrial maintenance to include mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical experience in a production environment.
  • A minimum of two (2) or more years of forklift operator experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably with unloading/loading of delivery vehicles. Forklift Certification required and recertification every three (3) years or as needed.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
  • Ability to effectively communicates in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.
  • Ability to work well and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work from heights using ladders and aerial lifts.
  • Ability to use and understand precision measuring tools and equipment, safe use of hand and power tools.
  • The ability to read and comprehend written instructions as required to complete assigned tasks.
